PhD Thesis by Hanne B. S. Knudsen: Reading comprehension and executive functions – the case of Danish children

Executive functions have recently been suggested to be particularly important in reading comprehension. The present thesis comprises results from Danish children, 8- 10 years of age. The study focused on the what the contributions are by working memory and cognitive flexibility to children’s reading comprehension, and if it is possible to improve children’s reading comprehension abilities through training their working memory.
